Auer Hall, Jacobs School of Music & LIVE@jacobs!
A centennial celebration concert of the composer Aurelio de la Vega (1925-2022) featuring a broad range of works, including some of which have been rarely performed or never recorded. The concert will count with the participation of Jack Allen (piano), Jose Campos (cello), Jackson Faulkner (alto saxophone), Diego Fernández Arraya (guitar), Luciana Giron Sheridan (soprano), José Hernández (violin), Aaron Lipsky (clarinet), Tatiana Morales (soprano), Carl Questad (piano), Thomas Shaw (cello), Kathleen Simunek (mezzo-soprano), Ben Tufte (piano), George Young (viola), Ai-ling (Lydia) Yu (piano), Dr. Aram Arakelyan (piano), and Dr. Bárbaro Martínez-Ruiz (declaimer). The repertoire will include “Asonante” (1985), La muerte de Pan (1948), Adramante (1985), Soliloquio (1950), El encuentro (1950), Leyenda del Ariel criollo (1953), Sound Clouds (1975), Andamar-Ramadna (1975), Antinomies (1967), and “La nostalgia de ese mar” (2005).
